In a letter to Göran Broling in the eraly '80s, Art Babbitt mentions:

"My 'How To' on animation will be much more than a book... if I live long enough to finalize it. There are many years of work still to be done."

Do anyone of you know if that book was ever completed and if the manuscript survived?

My guess is that Dick Williams basically took over the project and what we have today in "The Animator's Survival Kit" is what would have been had Babbitt ever gotten around to writing his book. (Dicks' book is based largely on the lectures that Babbitt gave at the Williams Studio in London in the 70's, with other accumulated knowledge from Ken Harris, Abe Levitow, Milt Kahl, Emery Hawkins, Grim Natwick, and a few other Golden-Age greats.)
