Van Eaton Galleries recently emailed collectors reproductions of a series of fantastic concept art drawings by David Hall that they are currently selling. Concept art has always been my favorite type of animation art and I hope that, aside from Before the Animation, more books will one day be released about the subject. I am especially eager to discover more of Ken Anderson's astounding character studies. But I will post more about this in the near future.
Thankfully, through the efforts of Brian Sibley, more than a hundred of Hall's inspirational drawings created for Alice were collected in the hard-to-find book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland released by Methuen Children's Books Ltd. in 1986.
