If you are note yet following the Disney History Institute Facebook page, you really should. It is more active than ever and include great documents like this photo of Walt and Diane from their visit to the Henry Ford Museum in Greenfield in 1940.
This just in from Michael Barrier about this photo: [I’ve tried to leave a comment on your Disney History blog, for the item with the photo of Walt and Diane at Greenfield Village, but I’m not sure I succeeded. In case I didn’t, here’s what I wrote:
That's a great photo, but it was taken in August 1943, not 1940. Diane accompanied Walt on a month-long trip to New York and Detroit that began on July 25 and ended on August 22. They spent four days in Dearborn, Mich., on the return trip, and that's when the photo was taken. In other words, Walt made at least three visits to Greenfield Village in the 1940s (in 1940, 1943, and 1948), not the two mentioned on the Greeenfield Village website.]
