This just in from Imagineer Chris Runco whom I interviewed recently for a future volume of Walt's People:
[Just wanted to let you know I did a podcast interview recently about the development of Star Tours, and particularly the design of the pilot, RX-24. It was for cartoonstocastles.com.]
Not to be missed.

I was interviewed last week by Mousetalgia about the upcoming They Drew as They Pleased - The Hidden Art of Disney's Early Renaissance. I believe most of you will enjoy listening to the interview.

Thanks to my good friend and fellow Disney historian, Mindy Johnson, I have recently discovered the only known photo of Bela Lugosi posing as Chernabog to guide the animators of Fantasia (especially Bill Tytla). If all goes well that photo will be released in the third volume of They Drew As They Pleased.
The filming session with Bela Lugosi took place at the Disney Studio on November 12, 1939. Now, thanks to Aaron Goldberg, author of The Disney Story, here is a clipping from the February 1940 issue of the magazine Modern Screen about that session.

Help Needed
Theme Park Press is currently working on a collection of never-released-before interviews with artists who worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We need volunteers to help Theme Park Press' owner, Bob McLain, transcribe as quickly and reliably as possible the hundreds of hours of interviews. Could some of you help? If so, could you please email me at didier.ghez@gmail.com?

Help needed with background noise reduction
One of the songwriters of Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland was Jerry Livingston. As far as I understand he was interviewed only once, by Disney historian David Tietyen. Unfortunately that recording suffers from terrible background noise and is therefore close to impossible to transcribe.
Is anyone reading this post an expert when it comes to backghround noise reduction and if so, could you please contact me at didier.ghez@gmail.com?
[UPDATE: I found a volunteer.]
