I just picked up the autobiography of Maureen O'Hara, which contains an excellent chapter about the making of The Parent Trap.

Oh yes, also in another chapter she writes about how Walt Disney took her idea of making Mary Poppins and cast Julie Andrews in the film and not her. Still not sure if that one was true.
