I just picked up this postcard last week. I had never seen it before and I was wondering if anyone of you has any information about it.

This is the old story that was often used as part of church sermons usually before the offering. The pig said to the cow, “How is it that everybody loves you so much? When I die, I provide people with bacon, ham and sausage. People also use my bristles for brushes. They even pickle my feet. I give everything that I have.”
The cow said to the pig, “Look, I give them milk while I’m alive. They see that I am generous with what I have. But you don’t give them anything while you’re alive only after you are dead.”
When writer Damon (“Guys and Dolls”) Runyon died of cancer in 1946, his friend, radio commentator Walter Winchell established the Damon Runyon Cancer Memorial Fund. A lot of celebrities like Bob Hope were involved with raising money for the cause.

Thanks Jim! Wakter Winchell is probably the connection to Walt.
Didier:
Art and lettering here are clearly by Hank Porter. I'll be doing a post about him soon on my blog.
