It took 4 years and the combined efforts of Jim Korkis, Paul F. Anderson, David Gerstein and myself. We finally have the answer to the Disney / Demolay comic-strips "mystery".

A total of 5 strips were created by Disney artist Fred Spencer for The Demolay Cordon. David Gerstein was able to visit the Mason Library in New York (where I had identified a complete collection of The Demolay Cordon) and checked every single issue of the newsletter from 1932 to 1935 finding only a total of 5 strips.

Those strips are being released by Paul F. Anderson at the moment and I have good hope that they will also appear this year in an official Disney book. This is another good day for Disney History :-)

Could you post an example of this mysterious comic strip?

Visit the Disney History Institute blog or do a quick search for "Demolay" on this blog and you will find two of them. The other ones will be posted soon on Paul F. Anderson's Disney History Institute.

It's a good day... but it would have been better had more strips been done! Oh, well—congrats to all of us anyway.
