It is not often that I know this early in the year which book will make it to the top of my "Best Disney History Books of the year list," but Tim Susanin's Walt before Mickey: Disney's Early Years, 1919-1928 is so good that I have no doubt it will be the best candidate. I had the opportunity to see an advance manuscript of Tim's book - all I can say is the book is an outstanding piece of reserch and rates easily as THE best Disney history book to be published since JB Kaufman's South American book. Congrats Tim! I look forward to buying a copy of the finished product.
