As you probably all know by now, the sad news of the day is the death of Fess Parker. You can read the about it here, here and here (Bob Iger's statement).
Wade Sampson had written about Fess for MousePlanet just last March.

I was at Flying Fish Restaurant in the WDW Boardwalk complex, eating alone at the furthest end of the bar that collided with a large booth that eventually filled with a party tasting fine wines. They asked me what I was drinking and a conversation started. I did not realize that the person who asked was Fess Parker. We all joked and chatted for a while and when they were ready to leave, Parker kindly offered all the bottled remains of their wines to me. I obliged gladly as there was lots to drink. Very nice since they had been tasting the most expensive stuff in the house. Very kind and humble man.
It's too bad Walt was so possessive killing off opportunities for him, I would have liked to seen Fess with the Duke in "The Searchers".
Thanks for posting this link to the Mouse Planet article. Interesting.
