I am a regular reader of this blog and am fascinated by the work of Disney. But cannot find anything about his producer Perce Pearce, whom I believe Doc was based on. Could you tell me where I could find some more information on Perce Pearce?

You are right! I have checked many sources and there is very little published about him. Let me see what I can do in the next few weeks to fill that gap.

I have a blog dedicated to Disney's live-action movie 'The Story of Robin Hood' made in England in 1952 and now almost completely forgotten about. I have searched for quite a while to find some information on Perce Pearce who produced that wonderful movie, but had no luck.
Any information on Perce Pearce would be gratefully received.

HELLO! Perce Pearce was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois, member of one of its oldest families. He drew cartoons as a young man and posted them in the various windows of their large 3 story home on Glendenning Street.
His sister, my mother's friend, still lived in the house after Perce left for California. He met Disney drawing cartoons on a beach in California and he became a close friend and worked for Disney for years, directing and writing most of the early animations. Walt decided to make live action movies and Perce was sent to England to make "Rob Roy". The money he earned could not be taken out of England, so he and his family stayed there until he died; not sure when that was. He used to send me 7 tickets for every Walt Disney movie up until he died (I was a very young girl at the time!). Just found it-died on July 4, 1955 in England and was buried there. Judi, could you please email me at dghez@hotmail.com? I would like to try and contact Pearce's sister.
