[Ever since you posted the poster and then later the YouTube link to theanimated section, I have been intrigued since I had never heard ofDisney's involvement in this film. Basically, I had never even knownthis film existed. Actually, I was most intrigued about why Walt wouldhave done this project. While searching for some other material for anarticle I am writing, I stumbled across a press announcement from theDisney Studios dated September 1963 that gives more insight into why theDisney Studios did original animation of the Three Little Pigs for thisfairly unknown film. It was a charity project and Walt rarelypublicized the Studio's many contributions to various charities. So forthe enlightenment of your readers, here is the press announcement from the Disney Studio:

"The Three Sleepy Pigs", a new four minute segment of animation inSpanish, has been produced by Walt for incorporation in a live actionMexican feature called Cri-Cri, El Grillito Cantor or in English,Cri-Cri, the Little Singing Cricket.

The feature itself is based on the life of Gabilondo Solar, a famoussouth of the border song writer, while Walt's contribution to it isbased on Solar's popular ballad, Los Cochinitos Dormilones.

Proceeds of the feature, which is set for widespread theatrical releasethroughout Mexico beginning in October, will go to the Institute for theProtection of Mexican Children, an organization that maintainsthirty-two plants engaged in the packaging and shipping of food to amillion school-age youngsters all over the country.]
