I found this unusual photo of Walt and Florence Ward last week on ebay. The caption says that it was taken at the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939.
it looks like something for the world's fair to me. notice the planet/globe in the top half of the poster. there is also rocket like space station in the lower middle. seems to early for tomorrowland, but could be something for the world's fair.
Was Florence Ward's name on the back of the photo? Only prominent Florence Ward in San Francisco I can find was born in 1866 . . . not this woman. I have been puzzling over this photo for a decade. A print was given to me by someone who worked for the fair.
