Here is an original drawing which is currently offered for sale on ebay with the following caption: "Offered here is a very rare Walt Disney Mad Hatter concept painting by Ward Kimball for a Hudson Car Commercial.I aquired this over 15 yrs ago indirectly from Ward Kimball. It is in exceptional condition. The Hatter measures a large 9 inches tall. Email with any questions."
Ward Kimball or Tom Oreb? Amid: Any thoughts?

It looks like somebody copying Oreb's design. If you look at Oreb's original drawing of the Mad Hatter for these spots, his shapes are far more elegant (for example, how the hat and face are unified as one large shape). It's possible that this is Ward playing around with the design but it definitely would be weak Ward because he was a much cartoonist than this. Plus, he wasn't working in the commercial unit with Tom at that time so I have doubts that he'd be the person behind this.
