I have been collecting vintage Disneyana items for so long that I am rarely surprised by any of them. This advertising tin box from the Netherlands created by Simon de Wit was an exception, though, and when I saw it on ebay, I knew that, even though I could not afford it, I would have to mention it at some point on the blog.

What a great piece of advertising! Besides Disney WW II items, I also collect pre-1938 Mickey and love the graphics on this piece...outstanding!
What did it sell for? Do you know what the dimensions were? The size of the canister looks almost like the size of the cans Happynak used for their British Mickey Mouse gas mask canister.
The tin is 5" tall and sold for $599.
Thanks Didier...the Happynak can was 8 inches tall.
Oh to have disposable money....
The graphics actually seem to be copied from vintage Gottfredson dailies! The image of seated Mickey with his black eye comes from the May 16, 1932 strip.
