I have now read the Disneyland-related chapter in the newly released biography of Ruth Shelllhorn by Kelly Comras. It is fairly short but meticulously researched and full of great new information.
I found an brief (3 page) article Kelly Comras wrote about Ruth Shellhorn back in 2012 for the VIEW magazine of the Library of American Landscape History.
