Thanks for the heads up, we tend to forget that there were others outside PIXAR and ILM pushing and developing CG film making in its early days . . . Walt would have been behind it 200%.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure this is where Pixar got it's start, with the type of animation and computer juice that Lisberger and company were using for animation on Tron. At least the seeds for Disney Studios handing off the software to the pre-Pixar group way back when. Even as a kid when Tron came out, I knew that it was the start of the next great thing with animation. Thanks for the heads up on the book.
ReplyDeleteThe best book written about Pixar's beginnings is "Droidmaker" by Michael Rubin. Out of all the books written on the subject, it's the most detailed, informative, well researched, and accurate accounting.
