I forgot to mention last week that I had updated the Disney Books Network. In the meantime I learned about an exciting new book about Walt Disney World to be released by Chad D. Emerson next year. A collection of in-depth essays about WDW's history by Disney historians the like of Jim Korkis, the book will pay homage to the park's 40th anniversary. Here is a short list of some of the essays that it will contain (this list is subject to changes and none of the titles are final):

1. A History of Discovery Island
2. The Connections Between Epcot and the 1939 New York Worlds Fair

  1. I will look forward to this book project and what I really hope will come across in this project is some much needed overdue respect for WDW's early years that have been too often neglected IMO. Seeing a chapter devoted to "If You Had Wings" certainly is one reassuring sign!

  2. Aha... word is getting out!

Three of these are mine, and I hope they prove satisfactory. It should be a pretty neat project...

  4. Rus,
Project Future is Chad's first book about WDW. It was released a few months ago and I mentioned it on the blog at the time. The book I am talking about here is a different one.

  5. What's the average length of an essay, just out of curiosity and overall how long a book is this going to be?

  6. Between 2500 and 5000 words per essay and there will be between 30 and 40 of them. It looks as if this will be a GREAT book.
