Are Myklebust was kind enough to send me this article from The American Magazine from March 1931. He started identifying the artists on the photo above. Can you recognize the others?

4) is not Bill Cottrell but Johnny Cannon.
6) could be Dave Hand, with motion blur. Seeing who the others are (all animators except Gillett and Lewis), this would be logical.
8) seems to be Norm Ferguson.
10) is correct, Tom Palmer.
And 12) is correct, Bert Lewis.

This article is really great! Do you know what year it was published? It says that he has no children but he is married so it has to be sometime before 1933.

I've passed along this information to Are Myklebust, but for the sake of completeness, here are the correct identifications for that photo; Ben Sharpsteen wrote them on the back of a copy of the photo he sent to me:

Standing, left to right, Wilfred Jackson, Les Clark, Burt Gillett, Johnny Cannon, Dick Lundy.

Seated, left to right, Dave Hand, Ben Sharpsteen, Norm Ferguson, Walt Disney, Tom Palmer, Jack King, Bert Lewis.
