Disneyland Paris celebrated its 15th Anniversary this weekend and to commemorate the occasion, a new book is being released to explain how this project saw the light of day. I have not yet seen Sébastien Roffat's book Disney et la France, but from the table of contents, it looks like a potentially interesting read. It only exists in French, though.

  1. Hi Didier!
(sorry folks if my english is not perfect, I'm french reader)

I haven't seen the book anymore but it sounds really interesting, specially the first part about La Convention (sorry, I don't know the word in english) ; a subject not enough covered (except maybe in "Once upon an american dream" by Andrew Lainsbury but I haven't it unfortunately yet). I tried to explain it for an article in my website (Disneymagicinteractive.com) but I have to say that I don't find a lot of sources.

The second part has the same name that the Paul Aries' book ("Le royaume désenchanté")... That's not encouraging! But I briefly talk with Sébastien Roffat few months ago, and he looks very neutral in its remarks. His first book about the World War II and propaganda in animation seemed to me very neutral too. A good author without any doubt. So I can't wait to have this book anymmore!

By the way... Happy Birthday DLP!
