A final post for the day: I was working yesterday on an interview with James Algar conducted by Richard Hubler and that will appear in Walt's People - Volume 5. Algar was discussing his role on the True-Life Adventures and mentioned the following anecdote about Walt:
"I think Walt rather admired the coyote. Walt was always on the side of the creature who was doing something for himself and was fending off whatever was threatening him and outsmarting enemies. The coyote is a very intelligent animal capable of pulling tricks on people and I think Walt always admired that in a creature, because I think he kind of read himself into it. That’s what he would have done if he were a coyote."
Interesting how Disney and Chuck Jones saw the coyote differently. Disney identified with the coyote's success and Jones identified with it as a failure.
